Greetings to the European WordPress Community! I am excited to announce (late) that WordCamp Europe 2023 will be taking place from June 8th to 10th in Athens, Greece. This event is one of the larger WordCamps so the schedule is packed full of incredible things to do. There will be talks, hands-on sessions, workshops, and fantastic networking opportunities.
The Location
The Megaron Athens International Conference Centre, situated in the heart of Athens, will be the venue for this year’s event. It is just a short stroll away from numerous historic landmarks and can accommodate up to 6,000 attendees. The center is easily accessible by the Athens Metro and provides a direct connection to the city center and Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport. The facility is wheelchair-accessible and offers dedicated parking options.

Throughout the three-day conference, attendees can select from an array of sessions that cater to various interests and expertise levels. Their mission is to create an inclusive environment that accommodates all levels of WordPress knowledge, from beginners to experts. To achieve this, talks are organized in separate ‘tracks,’ ensuring that everyone can find a topic that resonates with them. There are tracks that focus on community, tracks that focus on code, and tracks that focus on neither!

Contributor day
When it comes to contributing to the WordPress project, sometimes it’s not exactly clear how to get started. So besides the main conference, there will of course be the famous Contributor Day on June 8th. Contributor Day is a fun-filled occasion where you can partake in activities such as translating, writing documentation, bug fixing, testing, and more. If this is your first time contributing, information and guidance are provided to you so that you can make the most of the day. This event is about learning and contributing, connecting with the community, and having a great time. With opportunities for all skill sets and experience levels, Contributor Day is a welcoming space for everyone.
