WordCamp Rochester has been announced!

WordCamp Conference

We’re thrilled to announce that WordCamp Rochester 2023 has been officially scheduled! On September 30, 2023, WordPress users from around the region will gather at the Rochester School of the Arts, located at 45 Prince St, Rochester, NY 14607, for a day filled with knowledge sharing, networking, and community building.

The venue for this year’s WordCamp, the Rochester School of the Arts (SOTA), is located within the beautiful art district of Rochester. Attendees will find themselves in the midst of a creative atmosphere, with the Memorial Art Gallery just across the street and the Rochester Broadway Theatre League’s Auditorium Theatre a short distance away. The location sets the stage (pun intended) for an inspiring and engaging event.

Call for Volunteers

Volunteers play a crucial role in making WordCamp a success, and organizers are actively seeking people to assist. There are many areas where they need people as well including: passionate about event registration, food distribution, running AV equipment for session recordings, or general assistance. Joining the volunteer team is a great way to get involved, meet fellow WordPress enthusiasts, and contribute to the community.

Call for Speakers

WordCamp Rochester is actively seeking a diverse pool of speakers and a wide range of topics. You don’t need prior speaking experience to apply. If you have a unique perspective, an innovative idea, or valuable experiences to share, you are welcome!

Here are a few key details for prospective speakers:

  • The application deadline is August 1, 2023. Make sure to submit your proposal before this date.
  • Selected speakers will receive a complimentary ticket to WordCamp and an exclusive invitation to a VIP dinner prior to the event. Please note that speakers are not financially compensated.
  • It’s important to remember that sessions should not be sales pitches for products or services. WordCamp is about sharing knowledge, not promoting businesses.
  • To ensure wider accessibility, each session will be recorded and submitted to WordPress.tv. As a speaker, you will need to sign an A/V release form.
  • Presentation slides will be requested a few weeks before WordCamp for review. Be prepared to meet this deadline and deliver high-quality materials.

The WordCamp Rochester organizing team will carefully review all speaker submissions based on the topic’s relevance and interest to attendees, as well as the overall quality of the application. If you have multiple topics to propose, feel free to submit the form multiple times, each for a different topic.
