Last year I was honored to attend WPengine’s virtual developer conference DE{CODE}. It impressed me greatly as the first conference I participated in since the COVID shutdown. There was an amazing mix of knowledge, networking, and fun. The conference aims to help others build smarter with WordPress, maximize conversions, improve site performance, and modernize experiences using headless technologies. DE{CODE} also takes place across three major regions to close the gaps caused by time zone differences.
Where does it take place?
DE{CODE} is an entirely virtual event. Therefore, it takes place on whatever device you choose to stream it. It is also free to attend. This makes the conference one of the most accessible ones in WordPress. Knowledge and networking are given without fear of health concerns and there is no worry about the economic barrier that may come up with travel expenses. It again also takes place over two major time zones, so the event is not limited to one area. APAC is March 21, 2023, from 10 AM – 4 PM AEST, North America is March 21st, 2023, 10 AM – 4 PM and EMEA is March 23rd, 2023, 10 AM – 4 PM GMT.

What’s on the agenda?
There will be numerous talks over the 6-hour period from site migration to networking time for participants. A few sessions that look promising are: When is it worth investing in block-centric building in WordPress? Demystifying Core Web Vitals for WordPress. And, How to build your first headless WordPress project with ACF + WPGraphQL. You can view the entire agenda here.

How to register
Sign-up is available on WPengine’s events website and you can choose from the 3 major regions. After a short contact form, you are all signed up! A confirmation code is given, and a link is sent out before the event for you to join securely. And that’s all it is! The conference makes sure all the heavy work is done by the conference and that all you must do is power on your device.
I had a great time at DE{CODE} 2022 and look forward to attending this year. This is an event in the WordPress space that will leave you more enriched and interested in the WordPress project when you leave. As always, I hope to see you all there!
